The Dental Hygiene Studio is the first exclusive Dental Hygienist practice owned and run by a Dental Hygienist in the North West area.
You can book an appointment here for your routine Hygienist appointments, scale and polishes, without having to see a Dentist first. You can stay with your own dental practice, and access the Hygienist without the need to wait weeks for an appointment.
The law changed in 2013 which means you can simply walk in and see a fully qualified, GDC registered professional Dental Hygienist to help you keep your mouth healthy, and gum disease free.
We opened in 2019, but have over 25 years experience in dentistry, and we can care for you whether you are registered at a Dentist or not.

Top tips to keep that sparkle at home
Don’t rush when you brush!
Research shows its best to brush for 2 minutes twice a day to help prevent decay, gum problems and bad breath.
Visit your Hygienist regularly
People are all different, and have to see the Hygienist at different intervals. Some need to see us more regularly to either treat an ongoing problem, or to prevent any issues in the future. Your Hygienist will discuss this with you at your appointment, and explain why.
Its not just about Floss!
Flossing used to be the only tool we had to clean in between and around our teeth, but not any more! There are little brushes, picks, harp-flossers and even waterpiks! We will talk you through the best options for you, and help you to clean more effectively. For a more preventative approach towards gum disease, we need to work together as a team, so will help you be more effective at cleaning at home.

Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, we are currently accepting new patients, and would love for you to get in touch.
Do I need to see a dentist first, I'm not currently registered?
You do not need to see a dentist first, you can just come along and we will take it from there. We can also help you to become registered at a practice of your choice.
I am registered with a dentist at a different practice, can I still book an appointment?
Yes you can! You can choose to stay with your current practice, and still access the Hygienist services here, the choice is yours.
I haven't been to a dentist in years, and I'm a bit anxious about having people look in my mouth, will I be judged?
You can rest assured there will be no judgement on our part. We’re here to help you care for your mouth better, and have lots of expertise and knowhow. You’ll be amazed how easy it is after that first appointment.
What's this Airflow?
Airflow, (also known as Guided Biofilm Therapy), is the newest way of treating and preventing gum disease, staining, bad breath and tarter. Have a look at what our patients say on Google, don’t just take our word for it!
I'm usually really sensitive, how can you help?
We have lots of ways for helping with sensitive teeth, and you can rest assured you will be treated in an gentle and campassionate way.
Do you do Teeth Whitening?
Yes we do! We only use the tray system because of its excellent results. You’ll need to provide some X-Rays and book in for a consultation to assess your suitability. A Dentist will also ensure its safe to go ahead with the procedure.
I've never heard of a practice with no dentist, are you a proper Dental Professional?
We most certainly are. We are highly trained and experienced GDC registered and indemnified professionals the same as those Hygienists who work alongside Dentists. The law changed in 2013 to say you can access a Dental Hygienist service without the need to have a check up first, saving valuable time, expense and longer waiting times.

I have had three sessions at the Dental Hygiene Sudio in recent times, and I can say that I enjoyed each visit. Jules and her staff are spot on with their professionalism, especially with enabling you to stay relaxed, which with me is in itself a hard job! I have previously tended to treat a visit to the dentist or hygienist with a little trepidation, but attending the Dental Studio has been different. In fact after 79 years, I am now looking after my teeth better than ever before, through the good advice given (always with humour!)

Disability Access
We are a ground floor surgery with access to both surgery, waiting room and reception. There is a small step at the front of the practice, but our staff are more than happy to help access this.
